So we have finally got off the ground and started training dogs at Second Chance in Pattaya. The dogs have taken to the training with way more enthusiasm than I had envisaged. They love it. The volunteers as well enjoy working with the dogs, and the they leave there is some sadness that they cannot take their training partners with them. But that’s the goal of the training make the dogs adoptable so they can easily fit into home life, to give them an outlet so they are happy, get them used to being with lots of different people. So even if you can’t take the dogs home that you train, you still make a really positive impact on their lives.
There are many more dogs waiting for their chance to train. Join us to help them on their journey from shelter dog to sofa dog. It could also be your first step in your journey to become a dog trainer, if you can train an abused or traumatised shelter dog you can train any dog. You can train a dog that is disabled after being hit by a train, you can help rehabilitate a dog that is traumatised after being shot, we have several tripods that would love to be trained. None of the disabled dogs are dispirited and they have great personalities.
NokNoi ( meaning little bird in Thai ) is one of the first batch of dogs we trained with the volunteers, she surprised everyone by making the fastest time over the agility course. Add that to her beautiful temperament and she would be an awesome family pet.
