Oppa Poodle Cafe – A Dog Friendly Cafe in Taipei’s Datong District
If you’re looking for a dog-friendly cafe in Taipei that goes beyond a simple “pets welcome” sign, Oppa Poodle in Datong is worth seeking out. Named after Oppa, the elder of two resident poodles, this small cafe has built its entire identity around its dogs — and it shows.
I visited on a quiet midweek morning. The poodles were relaxed and sociable, happy to receive attention without any of the chaos you might expect. A dachshund also calls the cafe home, though he was off-duty during my visit. The atmosphere felt genuinely calm — the kind of place where both the dogs and the humans seem at ease.
The decor leans into the poodle theme with artwork throughout, giving the space a playful but unfussy character. It’s small and cosy without feeling cramped.
Food and drink are taken seriously here. The menu covers freshly prepared coffees, teas, and light meals, and my visit — a meal and coffee — came to 600 NTD. Both were excellent. There’s also a dedicated dog menu, so if you’re bringing your own dog, they won’t be left out. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash throughout your visit.
Oppa Poodle is at No. 302, Section 1, Dihua Street, Datong District. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 10am–6pm and weekends 9am–7pm. For reservations: +886 2 2559 2389.
